APW - Hamilton, Grade 941, 21J, 18S, very heavy 14K multicolor gold box hinge HC recase with yellow gold horse's head to rear surrounded by a rose gold horseshoe with seven inset diamonds, front with large rose gold shield surrounded by multicolor floral detail, gold cuvette, hexagonal pendant, bow with chain guards, white enamel DS dial, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, nickel damascene, s#241259. Gross weight of assembled watch 101.6 dwt (158.1 g). A particularly beautiful multicolor gold box hinged equestrian hunting case with a very substantial in-hand presence.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, nearly mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous surfaces, some typical mild micro-fine scratches; nearly flawless dial with fine scratch between 9 and 10, two infinitesimal pinpoint nicks to left rim of seconds-register; excellent hour and seconds-hand, poor minute hand with oxide to spade and tip; case shows very little wear, two short scratches to lower-left of front shield, small nick to rear just above-right of horseshoe, cuvette with some parallel ripple lines to its surface likely caused by an aggressive past polishing, excellent overall engraving detail though with some reduction of fine horizontal lined detail surrounding front shield and rear horseshoe; tight bow, crown shows light wear; good glass crystal.
